The Library (learning Resource Centre) plays a vital role in providing & nurturing knowledge and aiding in learning & teaching activities. The primary purpose of the library is to support teaching, research, academic and management programs.
The Library is well–stocked with a wide range of books, journals, news papers, statistics, periodicals, prescribed titles and the reference material. It is available to students from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM every day. The library catalogue containing details of all titles held is maintained for quick reference. A large number of journals are also available on regular subscription and more are on the way.
The Institute has a well – stocked library, consisting of reading rooms, references and lending sections. The Institute library has nearly --------------- books and more than ----------------- titles in the field of Engineering and Humanities. Along with a rich collection of journals and periodicals on different topics, the library also has a wide and relevant collection of CD ROMs on various related subjects. The library can boost of world wide data search through Internet and e-mail, VCP, colour TV, Audio Visual aids on different subjects and reprographic facility available to the students.
A separate Digital Library has been established with membership of DELNET which can access more then 50 National / International Journals thousands of publications.

PHONICS understands well the fundamental importance of a library in promoting lifelong learning and improving the knowledge, skills and competence of its students. The college from its inception knows that a library and information centre of exceptional quality form the nerve centre of any good college. Connecting both students and faculty with global resources of knowledge, the Library shall continue to adapt to challenging new demands and provides a professional and conducive learning atmosphere for the empowerment of its users.
The library will house industry relevant reports, standards, annual reports, magazines, newsletters, etc. An automated set-up with user friendly portal providing a single point access to e-resources, the library will be rich in resources in the subjects of business, technology and allied areas.

Selecting, acquiring, organizing , maintaining and making accessible a collection of printed and non-printed, primary and secondary materials which will support the educational, research, and public service programmes of both students and faculty.

Responding to the varying needs of the academic community by involving faculty, students, and administration in the development and periodic assessment of library services and resources.

Providing library users with point-of-use instruction, personal assistance in conducting library research, and other reference services.

Providing an environment conducive to the optimum use of library materials and an appropriate schedule of hours of service and professional assistance.

Participating in any overall computing resources plan, and providing for full library utilisation of automation technology and for physical facilities and equipment adequate to process, catalogue, and store the materials.

Enhancing the library’s resources and services through cooperative relationships with other libraries and agencies.
Highly qualified, efficient librarians will ensure the best possible information services. Standard textbooks and books by well-known authors are stocked, and every effort will be made to obtain all titles recommended by the faculty. Multiple copies of popular books will be bought to make them available to as many students as possible.
Fully automated for day-to-day operations, there will be automated issuing and book collection systems in place.
Membership
All students, faculty members and employees of the institute are eligible for the membership of the library.
Bar-coding System
- All the books will be bar-coded in the library & barcode laser scanners will be used in the circulation counter for book transaction.

Full Text Database Subscriptions will be made available for the faculty and the students.
Monday – Friday
- Study & Reference – 7.30 a.m. to 12:30 mid night
- Transactions – 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Saturday, Sundays & Holidays
- Study & Reference – 9.00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Transactions – 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
RULES AND REGULATIONS:

Strict and absolute silence shall be observed in the Library

Bags, Big hand bags and files are strictly prohibited inside the library

No reader shall take any printed materials inside the library. The readers are requested to keep their belongings at the entrance of the library counter.

Borrowed library materials are strictly prohibited to take the same again inside the library.

The counter shall be closed 30 minutes before the closing of the library.

If the due date falls on a holiday for the library, the next working day will be taken as the due date.

Books will be issued to the students only after surrendering the students borrower tickets.

If any book is lost or damaged beyond repair, the person responsible shall replace it with a new copy or pay double the cost of the book.

Books will be issued subject to availability

Any kind of marking, underlying, clipping of books is absolutely for bidden. Readers shall be held responsible for any damage done to the book belonging to the library and shall be required to replace such book or pay the value thereof.

Absence from the college will not be allowed as an excuse for the delay in the return of books.

Under special circumstances, the librarian may refuse the issue of books or recall the books already issued from any member without assigning any reason thereof.

A fine of Rs. 10/- will be charged for each ticket that is lost.

The borrower will be responsible for any loss or non-return of any book issued against his/her original or duplicate library borrowers ticket.
Reference books, Newspapers and Magazines/journals should not be taken out.
